The Importance of Causal Inference in Psychology

During my time as a PhD student in two began, like I've worked on long-term research on personality traits and basically my interest, more or less explicitly, was in causal effects. And then in discussions with the co-authors, I realized, hey, actually, it's very tough to investigate causal effects. Plus, we kind of decided that we don't even try to investigate causaleffects that will focus on description and prediction. So also for policymakers, that's the causal effects important.
