The Importance of Housing in a Recession
One third of people in this country own their own home. They've been unaffected by boys going up and they've become multi millionaires. Australia has a very, my concentration in millionaires, a capital around the world. And then one third in this country have a mortgage. For many years, you felt very good. I mean, house prices continually went up and then rates kind of came down. It's just crazy. There's just this sense of whistling past the graveyard that nobody wants to even entertain the idea that all it’s going to take is that recession and volumes of people losing their jobs who are absolutely unable to pay their mortgages.
