The National Guard and the Insurrection
The president was essentially mute as these insurrectionists went marauding through the capital. The coup is an odd word in american political lexicon because we don't have experience with coups, and we think of coups as something to take place against a president. But this was a coup executed by the president, against the vice president and against the congress. And at that point he invokes the insurrection actca out the national guard or whomever to put down all the chaos and insurrection that he had unleashed upon us.
