What Is Obes?
Ashwin says that obes was meant to signify other backward casts, despite saying classes. This difference in terminology means that although it is mostly inclusive of backward casts, the category is a little more flexible. The 19 31 census was the last one with data on o b ss. Since then, the census data for scheduled casts and tribes been published, but not of other casts.
