The Politics of Violence

If fascism is dangerous, then it's because of the threat of physical violence. We already ban physical violence and say we don't like fascist ideas on a public platform. But up until the moment where you actually start committing violence, we're not going to prevent you from speaking. And then if we do, it's not so much that we're preventing you from speaking as we are preventing you from committing violence. The NUS adopts a no-platform policy in order to help students' unions make a decision about the dividing point between people who might want to come along to your student union or those who won't.
