Once you start to really formalize and institutionalize, then those norms that were in the family get really baked into formal law. And i just think some of these issues around gender get so tricky and complicated because so many of these norms that start in the family are like, literally ancient. We've had them forever. So the question of how these things change, am you know, it just gets really complicated.
