Saudi-U.A.E. Coalition Hired Al-Qaeda Members to Help Fight the Houthis
The U.S. is increasing military assistance to the Mogadishu-based government in Somalia, according to a report from AP on Wednesday. The Somali government launched an offensive against al-Shabaab last year declaring total war on the group. This comes as Somalia is facing a severe drought combined with war could really lead to another bad famine in Somalia. Ethiopia, Kenya, and Djibouti have committed to a search and destroy mission against al- Shabaab. And there's actually a few analysts saying that al- shabaab doesn't have aspirations outside of Somalia. Although if the U.S., it seems like they're mostly focusing their attention on Somalia now.
