About 1% of fast radio birds might be explained by cataclysmic events like the binary neutron star mergers. One thing that we're working on is actually detecting things in the nearby universe. And then we can have a high enough angle resolution to point back find out exactly where it came from. So I think one ultimate telescope would be one that monitored pretty much the entire sky all the time at a pretty good sensitivity.
