The Importance of Purpose and Place in Selection and Assessment
Sue Phillips: I think this question of purpose and place, especially in selection and assessment or the graduation thereof, becomes really important as an anthropologist. She says if everybody's got a purpose and they've got a lane then that should help take care of some of the identity problem. And why do the best teams work as well as they do? Because members of that team feel as though they're allMutual and dispensability is what we need in the kind of places where you can't do my job without you also doing your job, she says.
