New York City public schools will fully reopen in september. A survey of teachers nation wide finds 28 % say they've considered retiring early or leaving the profession to distress and health concerns. This comes when there's already a shortage of qualified teachers. So suddenly, you know, if your mouth teacher's out, ordinarily you could call on one of your regular subs, but that person isn't a teacher any more. They're not substituting. And it just gets worse and worse the longer the substitute shortage goes on and the deeper it gets.
