I think I realize generationally between my parents that we approach acting in a different way. They were doing theater in the spirit of, there's so much dark shit. And I'm like, as an actor, let's rip that trap door open. For instance, I stopped auditioning as much and started having meetings where it became less about like, I don't care who you are outside of this room. Then a meeting has nothing to do with would you be good in this part? It's like, who are you? What are you like? How do you seem? And that will be the reason that I cast you or not.
