When I first started getting into investing a decade or so ago, this was the one which really made all the difference to me when I realized that you couldn't dance in and out and outperform. For people who've just inherited a lot of money or sold a company, that's a very different story. So for them, it does feel like timing the markets critically important. But generally those people are in a very strong position because they don't have to act quickly. They do have time on their size. And it's usually money they don't need anyway.
