The Single Maron Approach to Understanding Cognition Is Just a Bet
Many neurons are being recorded that have produced novel insight into a range of cognitive, as well as non cognitive functions. The single maron approach to understand cognition was really spinning its wheels for the past decade and a half or more. This new way of thinking about the brain has been productive in the past five or ten years. It is not just confirming models that we have from other disciplines either. It's really providing novel insight into how the brain is able to give rise to the intelligent behaviour that's truly representational and cognitive.
