What Is Morality?

The Beatitudes are for people that are in bad situations, not for people with good attitudes. The keynote of the kingdom is meant to drive us to a dependency upon a God who actually cares. As we show mercy, we receive mercy; as we hunger and thirst for righteousness, we find satisfaction. And then Jesus closes with a direct statement to his disciples: Rejoice and be glad.
