The Night of Unhe

Unhe took a weekend off and caught a bus heading north. As she left the city, evidence of fall began to appear. The colors of the trees grew deeper and bolder. A woman beside her had an arm in a sling and began knitting. She knitted the whole way up but they never spoke. Unhe got off first, from the start of the mountain road and she walked. There were no animals when Unhe had arrived at the farmhouse, not a single one.
