The Draper and the Frogmen of Saipan
The first mission I mentioned the Draper led at Saipan, the boats did come to a standstill and hauled the men out of the water. That draw is heavy enemy fire there sitting ducks. So that needed to be fixed. And at Maui, they started experimenting with pickup and high speed so after their swim mission scouting the short, the swimmers would line up in the water. Then you'd have the landing craft coming down the line with a rubber raft attached to the side and there'd be two men in the rubber raft. One was holding this steel cord rope ring.
