The Four Seasons

"I can't believe you didn't know anything about the frickin' seasons, you goober," he says. "What causes summer? I don't know how to even begin to explain that." He runs through the four seasons in order and when they speak: June, July, August. Winter is presumably winter; spring is where it springs up again. Why is it colder on a mountain top and often hotter in a valley?
