After Microsoft bought Bungie, the door kind of closed on Bungie really being a Mac game developer in any way. Halo was eventually released for the Mac, but it was a port by a third party company and wasn't a particularly good port. When they're independent, still makes sense because nobody plays games on Macs when they're owned by Sony. But that's just the way the world has gone in recent years with the Mac.
