Godofsky's Argument for Transcribing Chopin Etudes
Godofsky was a real polyphenist. His piano writing was very euphonious and totally respecting laws, proper laws of harmony and counterpoint. And he chose the Chopin etudes because they were a very solid, aesthetic base on which to do so. He received such abuse for many, many, many years over these arrangements.
