What Is the Mechanism and Treatment of a Zone One Fifth Metatarsal Fracture?
A stress fracture of the second metatarsal base is common in dancers. Sometimes you can diagnose these with x-rays, but like most stress fractures, almost everywhere else, see too scared. The treatment for these is non-surgical and they are treated just like an ankle sprain. You will put them either in a camboot or in a lace up ankle brace.
