Brian Clough made Anderson a regular during his time as Forest manager. He was one of the greatest underdog stories of modern English football. Anderson played for Arsenal, Manchester United and Middlesbrough before retiring in 1984 at 40. The former England international now runs a company that helps ex-footballers cope with life after sport.
