The Tensions of Marriage in the Roman Empire

Early strands of feminism in the Roman Empire caused great tensions. Many women didn't want to have children because of effects that would have on their shape and sexual appeal. Women began to lord it over men and increasingly took the initiative in getting divorce. And into this the apostle Paul is trying to figure out how on earth Jesus Christ rising from the dead constituted new humanity.
