Placenta Acreta
The procedure is called a wedge resection, or sort of a ceicles. We may take out a chunk of the uterus, so to speak, and just sow the rest back together. For most patients who have acreta, that's not a good option because what placenta acreta does kind of destroys the lower part of the uterus. Even if you could sort of remove the placenta without totally removing the uterus, it would cause Tunnel bleeding. There are other parts of the world and other investigators who are looking at the possibility of leaving placentas in place.
