I've seen some app like a couple open source code bases that take out the weirder approach of master doesn't necessarily always compile. I feel like part of that's also built into the go community since for so long, like master is what go get would get. So if master doesn't work, then no one's going to use your library because it's broken all the time. And maybe that was actually a really good thing for us as a community. Taught us some good skills.
