The Importance of Exact Replications

Exact replication is one of those mythological ivory tower things that doesn't exist. Even if a study doesn't replicate exactly, it may actually reinforce the original finding. This is not to say that repeating experiments is useless or pointless. But replications primarily help us understand the nuances around a phenomenon. They're not very useful as a tool to detect fraud.
