The Importance of Luke Warmness

Luke warmness comes from John in the book of Revelation, where a person representing God says to him. You're neither too hot nor too cold so I will spit you out of my mouth. And then he explains the speaker, the divine speaker, that it's because you think that you don't need anything. It's an illusion of self sufficiency that's at the root of Luke warmness. We can love God, we can love our neighbor, we can be courageous and wise and disciplined and serve God in all respects. That's enormously hard work for us. The hardest thing in a human beings life to be able to do.
