In the early 2000s, Heinemen's parent company was looking for new areas of growth. Leveled literacy intervention is a program for teachers to use with small groups of children who are struggling with reading. The idea that kids don't need to learn how to sound out words because there are other ways to figure out what the words say still holds true today.
