Robert Garro's Story

Robert Garro pleaded guilty to first-degree rape in exchange for other charges being dropped. He was sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison at Clinton Correctional Facility, a maximum security facility often known by its nickname, Little Siberia. In the final weeks of 1961, 25-year-old Robert Garro began serving his sentence at a maximum security prison in upstate New York.
