Young people have come of age in the aftermath of two thousand and nine financial crisis. New liberalism was about saving capitalism from stagnation, Ray says. But it had an ideological side to it that tried to convince people this was a desirable way to run our lives. So i think there has been a shift where this generation just didn't get the memo that they weren't supposed to dream. And so they've gone ahead and started dreaming again about another kind of a world. That's where we get the confidence to call for a green new deal.
