Dollar General and Dollar Tree Blame the Macroeconomic Environment for the Recession
Both companies put the blame on a couple of different factors so with dollar general it is of course everyone's favorite new excuse the macroeconomic environment and how the core customer base is spending less. Dollar Tree I thought this was interesting they are talking still about supply chain headwinds which I guess most people thought is we're kind of past that at this point but looks like they are still dealing with that and then shrink which has been a very big topic across the industry. So where does this put dollar stores right because they were really booming like you said over especially the peak pandemic despite not really having online presence but because you know the price points obviously and also just the traffic being really high.
