The Future of Vehicle Grid Integration

Bidirectional EV charging opens the door to controlling millions of EVs and basically training them to virtual power plants. Smart charging can be effective in shaving the peak load by delaying charging activity until after midnight. But it really doesn't help align EV charging with solar supply. And given a lack of workplace charging today, the ability and willingness of EV owners to charge during midday hours remains a major challenge.
