Three Characteristics of the Revival Movement

From the first, converts were gathered into small groups in order to encourage, instruct, stimulate one another in faith and good works. They not only preached God's law in order to demonstrate our great need of a Savior, but they believed fervently in our responsibility to live an obedience to God's laws. The Sermon on the Mount made it very clear to them that Christ was calling them not just to a life of faith, but a life of obedience as well. Although the leadership of the revival movement was mostly in the hands of Godly men from the very beginning, women were involved and extremely influential.
