In the past week, the August jobs report and a series of new proposals from Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump have put economic issues front and center in the presidential race. With the Federal Reserve expected to cut interest rates at their meeting later this month, both candidates have sought to outline their visions for continued economic growth while keeping inflation in check and mitigating recessionary risks.
