The Effects of Dendritic Pruning on Behavior

Dendritic pruning occurs in specific areas of the brain associated with certain functions. This part of the brain that seems to be affected by the dendritic pruned is the prefrontal cortex and the frontal cortex, which are where behavior inhibition develops. So rats, for instance, that have their cortex removed, right, the cortical area of the brain are completely removed, play. They do not change their behavior as they grow older to accommodate how the other animal is the play partner's responding.
