The Impact of Price Fixing on Consumers
Is there any chance that this fine might be passed on to regular Canadians? I think the competition bureau's argument would be that insofar as this deters other companies from doing this in the future, it will protect the consumer. There are also a couple of civil cases that are ongoing, class action lawsuits into this same matter and they are seeking further compensation of some kind.
