How Animals Can Compensate for Noise
A team at Florida's Dolphin Research Centre have been watching. As we invade their habitats, we generally make a noise. This can be highly disruptive to animals and the oceans at large. To find out how animals are affected, they recorded vocalisations under water. The dolphins responded by upping their game - but success rate dropped significantly as sound levels rose. It was kind of like the higher the noise got, the more they were impacted.
