Mendelssohn's Ending in a Minor Key
Mendelssohn had to find a way to get to the end, and he did it in this way. The second violins take the theme, then the first violins,. Then the entire orchestra hops, skips and jumps to the glowing conclusion. A lot of people hate the sending. To them, this happy ending is a cop out and is not earned.
