CHAPTER

The Red Book - The Hero's Journey

In our difficulty and unwillingness to come to terms with what's hard and dark in ourselves and in life itself, this is so prescient for his times. He has a beautiful line about the fact that heroes always fall because they never think that they're going to topple over from their own nonsense. They always do. And so he is determined in his wisdom to not be toppled unconsciously. I mean, he wants to participate in his toppling. That's really so much of what the Red Book is, is he's he's trying to stay a step ahead of it saying, Okay, I get what's going on here.
