A Journey Through the Darkness of Gilgamesh's Journey

Gilgamesh traveled for hours and hours in the intense darkness beneath the mountains. He emerged into an extraordinary garden made of pure lapis lazuli. A ferryman might be able to help Gilgamesh, although she couldn't say for sure. After explaining that he sought immortal life, Gilgamesh told the ferryman that he needed help crossing the ocean. The ferryman chided Gilgamesh for dispatching all the stone men who normally grewed the ferry.
