Aspirin Overdose and Sepsis
A patient who had a recent hospitalization for COVID, ended up having an aspirin overdose and ends up dying. She initially was worked up for sepsis; this is a very common problem. We got to remember aspirin overdose, the early onset of aspirin levels are going to be fairly low. Even if those aspirin levels are low, activated charcoal is essential three to four hours post-ingestion because absorption is very slow.
