Risk of Suicide After Dementia Diagnosis
Shuva Roy is joined by Charles R. Marshall from the Queen Mary University of London to discuss his article published in JAMA Neurology titled Risk of Suicide After Dementia Diagnosis. We used a big population data set from the United Kingdom to look at the association between receiving a dementia diagnosis and risk of suicide. The findings suggest that as neurologists, we need to be aware that our patients are potentially at increased risk of committing suicide after being diagnosed with dementia.
