The Pre-Selection Process for Spanish Civil War Refugee Children in the Soviet Union
Dr. Karl Kowals is the author of Staland's Nino's Educating Spanish Civil War refugee children in the Soviet Union 1937 to 1951. Almost 3000 child refugees made their way to the Soviet Union during the Spanish Civil War. The Soviets were pretty upfront that they didn't want any children from the nationalist cause. They wanted children from the left.
