What Is the Self?
i have a good friend that believes this. When you ask him what he is, when i say, what are you exactly? Are you your body? What are you? He says he is a spiritual being. He doesn't have a soul. But none the less, for most people living in hume's time, and many people living in today's world, this wouldn't even be close to an adequate explanation by hume. The reason why? Is because their unique definition of the soul that they've arrived at is not something that's separate from you. You are the soul.
