Housing secretary michael gove has linked ugly buildings to embodied carven, in a sign that future planning reforms may seek to limit use of steel and concrete. If only he could recognize and speak out similarly over the ugliness of a government that strips benefits and housing for the most vulnerable in society. That wages needless culture wars to win favour with the hateful. But that's just wishful thinking.
