Are We Creating Beings That Have a Strong Desire for Death?
If we didn't have factory farming, these animals would never exist. The logic of the larder is that if farmed animals have a net positive welfare, then we actually owe it to them to eat te so that we can bring into existence more such animals in the future. But i am extremely wary of these kinds of arguments,. because i do think, first of all, this is empirically not likely to work out. Especiallyin the genetic engineering case. It is much easier to genetically engineer cultivated meat without having animals in at all. Much easier to jet genetically engineer animals who are nothing than to be eaten by some one else.
