The Importance of Clinical Trial Data

I'm not one of those people that says that evidence-based medicine is like worthless, we can't know anything about the individual patient. I mean, clinical trials give us an average effect in a situation. My only criticism is that we don't do enough, we don't enroll enough patients that are reflective of the general population. But on the other hand, it's also important for us to know and to say that without clinical trials, we wouldn't really know what an average effect would be.
