The Vintage Rush in Japan
The consumer rush for vintage clothing caused the largest ever transfer of garments from the United States to Japan. After all, it was a finite supply. Most of these vintage clothes were floating around in old shops that didn't have computerized inventory systems. So this ravenous appetite for vintage in Japan naturally turned into just making new clothes that were vintage style.
