How to Use Shorthand to Create a System Model

Use shorthand. Usually my only label if I'm doing a little system model, especially like those little sidebar models. And that's usually like all I'm putting there. One for has one M for has many. You can always write more if you need to, but in most cases just a one or an M is totally fine. Okay, number five squares versus circles. So much additional information can be layered upon a system model by thinking about even just the shapes that you're using. It's a little bit more accessible than using color for color coding. A lot of diagramming tools will have shapes so you can have shapes for all sorts of different objects and different categories of objects.
