The Importance of Preservation in Museum Collections
The fragility of preserved culture something that came to us in a big way after 9-11 and now when we think of all the other cataclysmic things that can happen it really makes you wonder if it's totally responsible to unearth everything. The presumption that we have that we know what we're doing and that we can pull all this stuff out of the ground and then we will take care of it in perpetuity for most of this work is just doing the best we can under the given circumstances right.
