How Did You Get Started in the US?

I came to this country when I was 19 winning the green card the diversity visa lottery that the US does every year they allow 50,000 people to come into the United States and that really was to me that was a gift from God. When I did my calculation it just didn't really make sense because both my wife and I have full time jobs so we've heard too many horrible stories.
